Musyi FM

Started on July 25th 2005, Musyi FM is the leading Kamba language station that broadcasts in Nairobi and the greater Lower Eastern Kenya region.

MUSYI Means an arrow aiming to shoot with a bow, so it disseminates information fast and protects the Akamba people from exploitation by empowering them with relevant information/ knowledge of how to succeed/prevail in their endeavors.

MUSYI also means a Home, so listeners feel at home when listening to MUSYI FM (Thome wa Mukamba).

Thome is a traditional house where, in old days, men would go and talk about the issues affecting the family /community and find ways to solve them.

Areas covered include Nairobi & Machakos on 102.2 FM, Kitui & Makueni on 103.6 FM, Kibwezi and it’s environs on 92.2 FM, and Mombasa on 100 FM. We also stretch to Murang’a, Loitoktok, Taveta, Kilifi and Shimba Hills (Kwale County).

We are also online at www.musyifm.co.ke , on twitter @MusyiFM and our Facebook account is Musyi Fm.

Programming

Broadcasting in the Kamba language, the station offers content in tune with the Kamba lifestyle, history, and culture which enriches the knowledge and deepens
the listeners’ appreciation of Kamba tradition.

Musyi FM has high reach, dominant in all kamba-speaking areas; listeners are loyal and are “heavy listeners” throughout the week.

Our programming is tailored to have its fingers firmly on the pulse of the Kamba psyche from Monday to Sunday; we cut across multiple audiences at different parts of the day to accommodate various demands.

We pride ourselves in the provision of relevant and accurate information so as to enable our audience to make informed social, political, and economic decisions in their lives.

The menu includes news, talk-shows, comedy, educative features, sports, and business news, edu-entertainment shows, interactive sessions via call ins and SMS, and so much more. Music which is dear to our audience is given top priority.
