Citizen TV

Citizen TV (with an average daily reach of 21.3%, based on the latest KARF report)  is the leading television station in Kenya. It is the flagship brand of Royal Media Services and was founded in 1990 by Dr. S.K. Macharia as a private station. Citizen TV broadcasts in English and Kiswahili to audiences in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.

The station is known for its authoritative and in-depth news coverage with a variety of segments: Day Break, Sema na Citizen, Monday Special, News Night, Jeff Koinange Live, Tonight, News Gang, Nipashe Wikendi, Friday Night, Citizen Weekend and Sunday Live.

Citizen TV is also popular for its strong focus on local programming with shows shows such as Papa Shirandula, East Africa Got Talent and Mother in Law. As at February 2019, Citizen TV had the largest audience in Kenya with over 25% of the market share.
